Christmas Party 2008

Over 100 PAL participants came to Chuckee Cheeses to get free tokens, free pizza, and visit Santa to get a free toy.

11/30/08 - Our YDC group created a ginger bread
house with bubbles blowing out of the chimney. Each of the YDC kids had a custom t-shirt with a ginger bread man and other decorations.

The Police Explorers were on hand for crowd control and at the concession trailer. Some of our board members put on their walking shoes and proudly waved to the crowd. Thanks to everyone that helped make it a great event and many thanks to the public that cheered us on. See you next year!

Free Halloween Party

On 10/25/08 we had 752 kids and parents come to Sherwood Hall to gets treats courtesy of SPAL, The City of Salinas, and the Salinas Californian. Kids participated in carnival events, tried out a tall rock climbing wall, received several gifts, and got a small lunch. Photos will be posted here soon.

Bike Rodeo

10/12/08 - We distributed 50 free helmets, repaired 17 bikes, donated a car seat and provided safety instruction at our Bike Rodeo

Home for the Holidays

This performing arts event brought in a crowd of 272 persons and was loads of fun. E-mail us with your photos or video and we'll post them here.

Disney

10/6/08 - We took a group of 36 kids for an all expenses trip to visit Medieval Times, Disneyland, and the Museum of Tolerance.

New Treasurer

Michele O'Brien was elected as the Treasurer on 9/29/08 after Sgt. John Avery resigned to tackle a Masters degree. Welcome Michelle and good luck Sergeant.

YDC Trip

The Youth Directors Council recently had a fun day at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom on 9/13/08. This trip is a reward for the many volunteer hours that the group engages in throughout the city.
